Mr. Peabody’s Apples at Wheeler

Wheeler Elementary School students in Lindsay Crane's fifth grade class recently read Mr. Peabody's Apples written by “Madonna”, followed by participating in an activity, where they squeezed all of the toothpaste out of a tube and were then asked to put all of it back into the tube. The toothpaste represented words that can be unkind, and that cannot be taken back.

New Assistant Principal Named at the Middle School of Plainville

Ryan Cornelius, former educator in the New Britain, Connecticut public school district, has been named Assistant Principal at the Middle School of Plainville, according to Superintendent of Schools, Steven LePage. Cornelius will replace former Assistant Principal Aimee Roberts, who was recently named Principal of the Middle School of Plainville.

Catapults at MSP!

As part of the Middle School of Plainville’s summer learning program, students were recently tasked with building a catapult after experimenting with water balloon launches. The students spent two weeks creating working catapults from lumber using saws, vices, and other traditional tools.

October Portrait Pioneer

The October Plainville Community Schools’ “Portrait Pioneers” award winner, Linden Street School Special Education Teacher Ryan McMahon, was recognized at the October 12th Plainville Board of Education meeting. Ryan was nominated by Plainville Community Schools faculty member Chelsea Tep. This award was established to recognize those who exemplify and model the characteristics of the school district’s Portrait of the Graduate framework, which include being: Mindful, Resilient, Communicative, Innovative and Collaborative.
