Linden Street School’s 5th grade Community Outreach Group sponsored a “Community Give Back” drive from Feb 5-21, 2020.

NBC30 Meteorologist Bob Maxon and the “Snow Monster” weather vehicle visited Kerry Craft’s fifth grade class at Linden Street School on January 21st.

Linden Street School kindergarten students recently finished up their second reading unit of study, where they learned to use their “reading super powers” to help them become better readers.

Third graders at Linden Street School recently enjoyed a visit from Superintendent Steven LePage and Assistant Superintendent David Levenduski, to kick off the "Superintendent's Reading and Math Challenge" initiative.

Linden Street School has received a $500 grant from the Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance Program. Employees in the local XtraMart store, located on New Britain Avenue in Plainville, applied for the grant to benefit the Linden Street School community.

Superintendent Steven LePage and Assistant Superintendent David Levenduski recently delivered "top secret" word detective badges to Linden Street School first graders who have been working diligently on their word solving skills in hopes of becoming "word detectives".

Students in the Linden Street School After School STEM / Game Club facilitated by faculty member Christine Mazzarella, recently worked on creating a catapult. The object was to get launch a piece of candy as far as possible.

The Linden Street School Reading Incentive Committee, facilitated by faculty members Jill Mullins and Tahlya Stevenson, hosted its first Writing Celebration of the 2019-2020 School year.

Inspired by the short film, “Caine’s Arcade,” Linden Street School students participated in the Global Cardboard Challenge on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

Linden Street School third, fourth and fifth graders attended a New Britain Bees game on May 29th.

On June 4th, Teresa Pelham, author of Roxy's Forever Home, Roxy and Her Annoying Little Brother, Stuey, and Stuey & Veronica, came to visit Linden Street School! Students were excited to meet Teresa and hear her read her stories.e

Students in the Reading Partners program at Linden Street School celebrated the end of the school year with a therapy dog visit! In honor of National Therapy Animal Day on April 30th

Sixth grade students in Christina Corvello's sixth grade science classes at the Middle School of Plainville recently prepared an NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) lesson to teach kindergarten students in Shannon Bakaysa's class at Linden Street School. The Linden students learned how to make a lava lamp during the lesson.

On February 21st, over 100 students and their family members joined 20+ teachers, staff members, and PTO representatives for a fitness obstacle course staged throughout Linden Street School known as the Linden Kidathalon! P

Linden Street School’s fifth grade Community Outreach Group sponsored a “Help the Homeless” drive from Feb 4-14, 2019. These students collected personal care items and winter wear to benefit the United Way of West Central Connecticut.

Linden Librarian Information Teacher Jessica Hartung coordinated the first annual celebration of World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) at Linden on February 1st.

Fifth graders at Linden Street School recently enjoyed a performance by visiting musician / banjo player, Alycia Sandmeier. Sandmeier was joined by guitar player and Linden music teacher, Marilyn Speranza.

The local VFW Madeley-Roberts Post No. 574 recently sponsored the Plainville Community Schools Reading Partners program at Louis Toffolon Elementary School, Linden Street School and Frank T. Wheeler Elementary School, with a financial donation for books.

Pete Peluso, a Plainville musician and music educator, visited the Linden Street School Chorus with his accordion on June 6th. Peluso engaged students with melodies from Harry Potter films, as well as the theme from Rossini's William Tell Overture. Students clapped along and learned that the accordion is capable of more than just polka.
